Alex furrowed her brow a bit as she watched him. So he said ghosts were real, but they couldn’t be, could they? Maybe he was playing a game. Maybe it was just a game.

“So…what’s the plan?” she asked. “How do you get rid of a ghost? It’s already dead so you can’t kill it.”

He raised an eyebrow at that line of thought. She wasn’t halfway wrong. “Right, but it’s a spirit. Sometimes they cling to places because there’s unfinished business. But first, we’ve got to figure out who it is.”

He was trying to figure out the best way to approach this without freaking her out. “So, this isn’t someone you haven’t seen before? Maybe somebody who knew your dad or mom?”

She shrugged in response. “I don’t meet a lot of people my parents know,” she said. “Only Uncle Rhodey, Happy, Uncle Steve, Uncle Clint, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Nat, and Uncle Thor. And Loki, I guess.” Then again, she only got a glimpse of the person, but, from what she saw, she was pretty sure she didn’t know them.

“Ghosts are real?” she exclaimed, eyes growing wide. “Sweet! But yesterday I was home alone while my parents were at work and I thought I saw someone in the living room. There was no one there. Then it got cold for a second. It was weird.”
The signs of a typical haunting. Question was who would still be hanging around? He supposed he’d soon find out whether he wanted to or not. Nothing needed to happen to this girl.

“That sounds like a spirit. You want me to come check it out for you? Because some of the ghosts I’ve seen…they’re not exactly Casper, kid.”

Alex furrowed her brow a bit as she watched him. So he said ghosts were real, but they couldn’t be, could they? Maybe he was playing a game. Maybe it was just a game.

"So…what’s the plan?" she asked. "How do you get rid of a ghost? It’s already dead so you can’t kill it."

Will Hayes: I had two serious girlfriends… and then some other smattering of other women. What?
Maya Hayes: What’s the boy word for ‘slut’?
Will Hayes: They still haven’t come up with one yet. But I’m sure they’re working on it.

New followers have walked under my wings-

“Black wings?” she echoed in awe. “But I thought only bad angels had black wings…” Her last comment was quiet and more to herself than anything. Finally, she raised her voice again and looked up at him, “They sound cool, though.” She tried, then and there, to imagine what it was like to have wings, but it was tougher than it sounded. “Having wings must be awesome!”

“They can be a bitch sometimes if you don’t take care of ‘em. The lil’ bastards have a mind of their own.” Dean  let out another loud sigh,”─but yeah, I guess they’re sorta cool.” He really didn’t know how to answer her other comment before, bad angel equals black wings. Huh, he never put that into consideration before.

"So you’re a good angel with black wings." Her words were more of a statement than a question and she nodded a bit to herself. "That’s cool." But then more curiosity hit her and she thought of dozens of other questions. "Can you fly? My dad can and it looks fun."

The Beginnings of Nerf Warfare

rhymeswithshutupsam:

the-little-stark-girl:

Alex couldn’t hear anything. She quietly opened the small cupboard door, but when it creaked she stopped abruptly and froze, hoping Dean hadn’t heard. When it came to games like this, she was dead serious about them. It was fun, of course, but she was competitive.

When she decided the coat was clear, she opened the door all the way, glad that it hadn’t creaked anymore. She crawled out, but stayed hidden behind the island counter in the kitchen, simply waiting for Dean to show up.

A few quiet footfalls into his approach, a noise made him stop and he pressed his back against the nearest wall, peering around to find the source. Though everything was dead still now. His determined expression looked almost comical with a bright yellow and orange Nerf gun in hand.

But the coast seemed more or less clear, so he crept further, going into the kitchen. His eyes darted around, not seeing anything of interest from the doorway, so he started to make his way around.

The footsteps put Alex on edge when she knew that Dean was in the kitchen. She poked her head around the island in the kitchen for a split second, spotting the hunter, but then moved back, sitting up against the cabinet of the island. Then she smiled mischievously and jumped up to her feet, immediately firing, at least, seven nerf darts at Dean, just before running past him and out of the kitchen.

"You’re losing already, Deanie!" she yelled over her shoulder, her voice carrying a ring of laughter.
